Useful Tips & Functions of the MW to Learn and Know

Many of us have to work with Microsoft Word documents every day. Students do their term papers and dissertations in it, write essays and reports, and someone cannot imagine their work without a word.

This is one of the most critical programs in our computers and laptops. But often we lack elementary skills for working with Word. But if we knew about all the secrets presented below, the work would have gone even faster and easier. These are handy tips that every modern computer user should be aware of.

Becoming a Microsoft Word Specialist

1. Non-breaking space

A non-breaking space is another handy thing that allows you to save on one line the words that are usually transferred to the second.

For example, you need to write a surname and initials. In the results, the name remains on the first line, and the initials moved to another. In this case, we place the cursor between them and holding “Ctrl + Shift + Space” we put a complicated space, thanks to which the words between them will move on one line.

2. Hyphenation

Usually, this function is disabled by default, and Word automatically wraps the words on the next line without breaking them, as a result of which large empty spaces may appear between the words.

Thus, by enabling hyphenation, you can get rid of empty spaces and make the text denser. It is worth noting that the transfer process you can entrust to Word or arrange them yourself by checking the proposed options with a computer. To enable this function, go to the “Page Layout” section and select “Hyphenation” there.

3. Insert a screenshot of the active window

This tool can be handy when writing various instructions, articles, or if you need to give an excellent example by pasting into Word a screenshot of some program that is open on your desktop. You can enjoy the management of endless features by getting free microsoft word download online.

In general, to use this function, you need to go to the “Insert” section and click on the “Snapshot” icon there. As a result of clicking below, a small area will appear where screenshots of the windows that are currently open on your computer will be displayed. By clicking on any of the available images, it will move to the document, well, then you can move it as you like.

4. How to Put an Emphasis on Words

In the installation of stress, in principle, there is nothing complicated, as it might seem at first glance. In general, we set the cursor after the letter on which the stress will be placed, after which holding the “Alt” key, we type in the numbers “769” on the digital keyboard, which is located on the right.

That is, it should look like this: “Alt + 769“. After that, an accent will appear above the letter behind which the cursor was positioned.

5. Password setting

Setting a password for a document is certainly not news for a long time. Many of these features have been successfully used for a long time. If someone else is not familiar with it, now I’ll explain everything to you, for example, you need to protect the file from users who might accidentally edit it.

To do this, you put the password on the document, after which, with subsequent attempts to open it, it will immediately ask for the unlock code, and only after the correct password has been entered, the document will become editable.

6. How to Inspect the Documents Compatibility

This will help you not to get punctured if you want to open some of your documents on someone else’s computer, on which the version of the Word may differ from yours. And this assistant can run a text readability test for people with disabilities and reveal hidden properties and data in a document.
