Augmented Reality in Future

The real influence of Augmented Reality lies in how it brings various components of the technology words into an individual’s conscious field, not only through data but also through the integration of sensations that are perceived as natural. However, it has been functional since the early 1990s, when the US Air Force developed a virtual fixtures system. The experience, back then, for the first time, took place in entertainment and gaming businesses. Today, Augmented Reality is a part of almost every smartphone, helping users interact and experience real-like scenarios virtually.

For examples, Yap Studios, in partnership with Apple, developed a Statue of Liberty augmented reality app, that will be helping iOS users around the world experience iconic statue in their homes. Similarly, Minecraft recently released their office new AR platform game called Minecraft Earth, that will stimulate the actual surroundings of the user into a gaming experience, similar to Minecraft web.

Small and big companies around the world are adapting to augmented reality and using its features to explore and add interactivity to the user’s experience. From watching movies, from turning an empty table into a multiplayer gaming platform, what we can do with this AR technology is genuinely limitless.

Future of Augmented Reality

However, Augmented reality is not limited to gaming alone. It is meant to be serious business in the future. To start with the numbers, by 2025, the video game market using AR is estimated to be $11.6 billion and can become a trillion dollar industry by that time. Moreover, many other sectors will include AR into their marketing plans. For example, the healthcare industry is already planning to use AR for faster diagnosis of illnesses, which is estimated to be a $5 billion industry. Medical devices will be able to find veins faster than a phlebotomist, which is incredible for the future. If not anything else, the education market will bring in $7 million using AR technologies.

The real estate and home improvement industry will be using AR for interactive walkthroughs and for using home information easily through mobile apps. Companies like Ikea are already working on the development of realistic environments for their customers to experience items personally, by scaling and zooming of things, making them fit exactly as they would ideally look in their homes.

Additionally, customers love AR. Over 71 percent of retailers agree that they would likely shop more often. Over 40 percent of individuals would pay more for a product that offered augmented experience. Owing to this, invisible stores have opened up in New York and Los Angeles using the power of AR to push sneakers on people using a GPS and a single app, which is expected to become a trend of its own.

Augmented Reality Game GPS

Not only shopping, but companies are also using the power of AR to help experience travel, which is turning into an industry of over 4 billion in the next seven years. Eighty-four percent of customers wish that there was a tech to inform travel experiences. There are many AR travel apps, such as Wikitude and Etips, as city guides. The application also provides itineraries, GPS enabled maps of the area and on-screen recommendations. It will also allow customers to receive the best hotel and restaurants and sightseeing stops.

Such companies will power city guides, expeditions without leaving home, and offer improvements to zoos, and amusement parks. The advancements will allow visitors to overlay skin and movement onto skeletons, which will also enable visitors to search for plants and animals, using an application and a camera on their phones.

Google Expeditions will be using augmented reality for taking school children on field trips around the world, in which they won’t have to leave the safety of their classrooms. Students will be able to experience places like mars and great barrier reef, which will be cheaper and useful for individuals who are physically disabled.

AR Technology Games

Currently, the augmented reality has reached a stage where a variety of futuristic improvements and technological changes are done with one another to build an expanded reality package that includes general hardware components, display, sensors and input devices, and software.

The display components, which is usually a smartphone, contains a process, an accelerometer, GPS, camera, microphone that contains all the hardware required to build an advanced AR accessory. The display is generally head mounted, or eyeglasses, virtual retinal spectacles, or EyeTap rays that are captured from the substitutes with a computer generated one. While it is essential to build the hardware, software development will take the majority of the time, given the technicalities involved in Augmented Reality Markup Language, which standardizes the XML grammar for virtual reality (VR).

With all such development and rapid innovations, the future of Augmented Reality looks bright. Jessica Lowry, one of the finest UX designers of our time, states that AR is the future of design. Moreover, AR has become an integral part of our lives, so much so that it is an essential part of our bodies. It won’t be unrealistic to state that AR will provide opportunities to offer first class user experience in their world.

There will be critical advancements in the Internet of Things. UX designers will be using AR to build traditional experiences on an advanced platform that. Users will have much better control over what they see and do. Experience won’t be limited to time or place. While these experiences for leisure and pleasure, there will be many more enhancements to improve the workability of individuals at work. A decade ago, we were waiting for the future to arrive. Today, the future is here.
