Why is Online Learning Effective?

Online learning has been around for quite a long time. But only recently have people begun showing interest in it. Before, people opted to use online learning, if they used it at all, to learn about subjects they considered as hobbies. It was treated like a little side-project. Nobody actually took up online learning and used it to study a course that could be utilized later to be a significant source of income.

Moreover, there is a widespread belief that some courses can only be studied in a traditional university setting. One example of this is the Project Management course. This includes other Project Management Professional specialized courses along with the basic ones.

But on the contrary, it is thought that some courses like Cloud Computing and its related fields are better understood if studied in an e-learning setting. While this does help in getting the AWS certification quickly, creating such tight boundaries regarding what can be considered in online learning and what can’t be, is limiting.

This stream of thinking hasn’t entirely disappeared, but people have indeed started looking at online learning as a viable alternative to in-class university learning. This shift in thinking might be because people finally realize the following advantages of online learning:

  • Time and Location Flexibility: Not everyone can allot a majority of their time to study. Many have other pressing concerns which they have to prioritize. So e-learning helps those students by giving them the flexibility to choose when they want to engage with the content. Another significant benefit is that they don’t have to travel anywhere to study. Their virtual university is available at the tip of their fingers, and it can be accessed from anywhere, anytime they want.
  • E-learning Is Cheaper: One of the primary reasons behind the rising popularity of e-learning is the simple fact that it is way cheaper than other traditional methods of learning. Not everyone can afford the cost of studying in a conventional, physical university. This cost doesn’t just pertain to the institution’s fees but also other additional expenses like food, lodging, and more. Online learning is lucrative since it can be accomplished on a smaller budget.
  • Higher Retention rates: Online courses have been shown to have better student retention rates than traditional learning institutions precisely for the above reasons. Another reason is that e-learning courses tend to hold more periodical short assessment examinations of different kinds. These brief tests are interspersed with multimedia content, which reduces distractions and increases engagement.

1. Can Project Management Courses Be Studied Online?

E-Learning can be applied across a broad curriculum, but one of the places where it is not so commonly applied is in Project Management. People still think that there are some courses where online learning doesn’t work, and as was said in the beginning, a Project Management Professional course is one of them. But what many people don’t know is that there are comprehensive Project Management courses that cover everything taught in physical universities and then some more.

Online courses in regards to Project management professional courses offer the following:

  • Basic Online Course for Project Management: A detailed overview of project management is given here. Special emphasis is put on analysis, planning, evaluation, methodology, project lifecycle, and toolsets. Starting from the basics, let beginners who don’t know much about Project Management get caught up with the basics of the course. The time taken to complete this basic course ranges anywhere from 6 to 10 hours, depending on how fast the student wants to learn. As for an official diploma, all reputed virtual universities offer students the option of getting one.
  • Specialized Project Management Courses: Apart from the above course on the basics of Project Management, students also get the opportunity to specialize in multiple Project Management Professional courses. Many such specialized courses are given out in collaboration with reputed physical universities. As for the study materials, everything is downloadable, and students can even get their work graded. Moreover, some of these exams will be taken online under supervision, like through a webcam. The course timing of these courses can range up to 80 hours. Once you finish taking the course, a certificate will be mailed to the candidate.

2. What Is Cloud Computing AWS Certification?

Online learning may not be the most popular educational method when it comes to Project Management courses. Still, the opposite is exact for Cloud computing and AWS certification in tandem with it.

Cloud Computing, in short, makes use of the internet and its remote central servers to keep track of applications and data. It lets people use apps without worrying about a lack of internet access, creating barriers to accessing their files. This allows for better data processing, storage, and more.

As for AWS, most people might not know that an Amazon Web Service (AWS) Certified personnel in Cloud Computing helps professionals create credibility or build better career opportunities in their institutions or organizations.

These institutions get to know about sales, managerial duties, purchasing, and more from the Cloud computing practitioners who are AWS certified too. The best part is that candidates can get this certification quickly. They can choose the time or location they prefer to give the exam.

3. Some features of this online examination are:

  • Candidates can take the exam every 15 minutes.
  • Online cloud computing AWS Certification exams are held in only English for now.
  • People who work as CEOs, program managers, sales managers, and such have to get this certification.
  • To help candidates prepare for this certification, there’s a free training and exam guide available online.

4. The Benefits of Cloud Computing E-Learning

  • Low Investment: Investing in cloud technology is a one-time investment. Moreover, it gives excellent returns when it comes to incurring maintenance or storage costs.
  • Supports Asynchronous Learning: Using cloud computing, people can access whatever courses they want and get online feedback for them as well.
  • Helps Teachers: Cloud-based online learning simplifies the role of a professor. This allows the instructor to engage with the students more productively and use various methods rather than just relying on direct lectures.

One of the major drawbacks of online learning is that it depends on the internet and device performance. Some applications can suffer from low internet speeds and, as a result, deliver poor effects due to lack of proper infrastructure, which needs to be addressed more seriously.

But this isn’t reason enough to discard the many advantages of online learning in the developing world. Online learning works on multiple levels and allows people to get the education they want, no matter their location.
